ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece was a first of its kind for me – and those are always special. I wanted to play on a collage-feel that was entirely painted, and steer into a mix of landscapes with lot of bright-colours and street-art techniques. A bit of a hip-hop remix of songs that sound familiar, but you can't quite name- like Gershwin x Gaga.
The piece is a tribute to sunsets, and the way light celebrates terrain, and basically just makes everything wonderful! A collage of sunset moments and desert textures, layers of low tides and setting suns – with a contrasting mix of genres and moods.
Across The Universe was displayed in the main foyer of the ABC Studios in Ultimo, Sydney as part of their Emerging Artist showcase in June and July 2026.
